Based in Manila, the Philippines
Our client, the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) is an Australian Government agency specialising in agricultural research-for-development. ACIAR brokers and funds research partnerships between Australian scientists and their counterparts in developing countries.
Working closely with the ACIAR Philippines Office, the Communications Officer will lead the development and implementation of ACIAR’s country communications and advocacy strategy, supporting ACIAR in the Philippines and its Canberra headquarters to design and deliver impactful communications products.
A key focus of the role is to raise awareness and understanding of ACIAR’s mission, programs, and research outcomes through high-quality content and strategic outreach.
· Lead the development and delivery of ACIAR Philippines’ communications strategy and annual workplan in line with ACIAR’s corporate communications framework.
· Create engaging content and communication materials including articles, key messages, briefs, brochures, social media content, videos, photos and other multimedia.
· Promote ACIAR’s work across digital platforms, media, and partner networks.
· Liaise with local and regional media to increase coverage and visibility of ACIAR-supported projects.
· Coordinate and support communications components of events, launches and public diplomacy activities.
· Work closely with the ACIAR Outreach team in Canberra and the DFAT Public Diplomacy team to ensure alignment of messaging and branding.
· Tertiary qualifications in Journalism, Communications, Public Affairs, or other similar discipline.
· Minimum five years’ experience in development communications at a mid to senior level.
· Demonstrated ability to develop high-quality content for a range of platforms including print, digital and multimedia.
· Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
· Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
· Proficient use of MS Office and design/communications tools.
· Proven experience in strategy development and implementation.
This position is open to Filipinos and permanent residents with the authority to live and work in the Philippines.
