The Role:

Are you an experienced Counsellor looking to take your next steps as a leader? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our brand-new Rising Strong Program as a Coordinator Counselling Services.

Rising Strong is a therapeutic individual support service that is trauma and healing informed, designed for young men and adolescent boys aged 12 to 18 who are using or at risk of using violence. This program will be delivered in partnership with Centrecare to provide impactful and holistic support for participants.

As the Coordinator Counselling Services, you will be responsible for the successful leadership and management of allocated counselling program(s). Through the provision of values-based leadership, you will drive the delivery of quality services by identifying and implementing initiatives to improve both service efficiency and effectiveness. You will also develop and maintain strategic relationships and partnerships within the sector to enhance service delivery and provide opportunities for young people to access additional support.

This position will be offered on a Permanent Part-Time basis, working 45.6 hours per fortnight, with flexible hours depending on candidate availability.

Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Social Work, Psychology or other relevant field.
  • Eligible for registration with AHPRA Psychology Board of Australia or other relevant professional body
  • Experience in delivering evidenced-based therapeutic counselling interventions.
  • Experience in planning and delivering family and relationship focussed courses/group sessions.
  • Significant experience of autonomous facilitation of counselling or therapeutic intervention with families.
  • Advanced stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships and alliances with individuals and groups.
  • Advanced people management skills, including the ability to lead and manage people and resources to achieve consistent outcomes, and provide professional supervision.
  • Expert knowledge of family and relationship counselling or therapeutic practices.
  • Understanding of case management principles.
  • Principles of harm minimization, social justice, professional ethics and advocacy.
  • Satisfactory Police clearance (not older than 6 months from the issue date)
  • Unrestricted drivers’ licence
  • Working With Children Check
