The Role:
We are currently seeking a passionate Family Safety Advocate to join the Northam Men’s Behaviour Change Team.
The Family Safety Advocate develops and delivers a range of services to maximise the safety and support of clients (victim-survivors) who have experienced violence and/or abuse within their intimate partner or family relationships. This role builds respectful and effective relationships with clients, including women, children and other family members, as well as program staff, to build safety and connection to appropriate services and support.
This position will be offered on a Fixed-Term Part-Time basis, working 22.4 hours per fortnight. The role will be located at in Northam with occasional travel to the Cannington office.

Selection Criteria
Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Counselling or Psychology with a specialisation in Family Violence, and/or significant experience in the family and domestic violence.
Relevant experience in a similar role, including in engaging with victim-survivor of Family Domestic Violence and Abuse.
Experience in working with and understanding of the developmental and therapeutic needs of children who have experienced trauma, abuse and neglect.
Advanced stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with individuals and groups.
Cultural competency to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, culturally and linguistically diverse populations, and people with disabilities.
Understanding of the confidentiality protocols that relate to interactions with victim-survivors of Family Domestic Violence and Abuse
Understanding of Safe and Together principles and model workings.
Knowledge and understanding of the National plan to end violence against women and children 2022-2032.
Experience working within Men’s Behaviour Change Programs (desirable).
Unrestricted drivers’ licence
Satisfactory Police clearance (not older than 6 months from the issue date)
Current working with children check card
Willingness to obtain a Department of Justice integrity clearance
