The tasks include reviewing assessments, presentations, spreadsheets, charts, passages, storyboards, and transcripts to ensure proper formatting, capitalization, spelling, punctuation, grammar, usage, and tone.
Copy editors (CEs) will need to quickly adapt to guidelines and deliver files. Time is of the essence; tasks typically have a short turnaround time.
A strong work ethic is an integral part of the job. CEs are usually the last line of defense before files go to clients. CEs are accountable for the documents they are reviewing.
CEs must be able to spot inconsistencies quickly and must ensure that content adheres to the specified style. CEs may need to check for plagiarism and accuracy of facts.
